The Highest Purity of Creatine

High Quality

99.9% purity

Creapure® contains significantly less (< 20 mg/kg) DCD than the legally prescribed maximum levels (EFSA limit: 50 mg/kg) and no detectable DHT (EFSA limit: 3 mg/kg). For comparison, analyses of 20 conventional creatine products showed that some exceeded the EFSA recommendations several times over. Dihydrotriazine (DHT) is suspected of being harmful to health – it is undetectable in Creapure®.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes CHOOZY Creapure better than regular creatine?

Creatine is creatine chemically, but not all creatine is made the same way. Ours is Creapure, made in Germany to a purity standard of at least 99.9%, tested batch by batch using HPLC (a lab method that checks exactly what's in a product). Cheaper creatine is made in China, often tests at 95 to 98% purity, with the rest made up of manufacturing by-products. That gap is small on paper, but it's the difference between a clean supplement and one carrying extra impurities you didn't ask for.

Is micronised creatine better than regular creatine monohydrate?

Micronised creatine is just creatine that's been ground into finer particles so it dissolves a little more easily in water. It doesn't work any better once it's in your body, particle size changes texture, not effectiveness. CHOOZY uses Creapure creatine rather than a micronised version, because purity is what actually matters for genuine results.

Where does your creatine actually come from?

About 90% of the world's creatine is made in China. Ours isn't. CHOOZY uses Creapure, made at a dedicated facility in Trostberg, Germany, run by a company called AlzChem. It's produced to GMP and HACCP standards, with every batch tested for purity before it's packed.

How can I trust this is Creapure creatine?

Look for the Creapure® quality seal with QS code on our packaging. You can enter this 6-digit code on creapure.com and instantly verify its authenticity.

What does it mean that our creatine is listed on the Cologne List?

The Cologne List is an independent German database that tests supplements, batch by batch, for banned substances. The testing is run through the Cologne Sports University's anti-doping research centre. For anyone training or competing, that's a meaningful layer of reassurance most creatine simply doesn't have.

Does creatine make you bloat?

Creatine itself doesn't cause bloating. It can pull a small amount of water into your muscle cells, which is a normal part of how it works, not the same thing as feeling bloated. Real bloating is more often down to impurities in low-purity creatine, left behind when a product hasn't been purified properly.

Creapure is made using a water-based purification process in Germany and tests below 20mg/kg for DCD (a manufacturing by-product), with DHT undetectable, well under the EU safety limit of 50mg/kg. Cheaper, less rigorously purified creatine has tested as high as 200mg/kg for DCD, and it's impurities like that, not the creatine itself, that are the more likely cause if you've felt bloated before.

Does creatine cause weight gain?

Creatine can cause a small increase in water stored inside your muscles, which might show as a kilogram or two on the scale. That's water and muscle fullness, not fat. Creatine researcher Dr Darren Candow, one of the most published names in the field, has pointed to research showing creatine supplementation does not increase fat mass. If the scale creeps up slightly when you start, that's your muscles holding more water, not your body storing more fat.

Does creatine dehydrate you?

No - Creatine researcher, Dr Darren Candow states that the research doesn't support the idea that creatine causes dehydration or muscle cramping. If anything, creatine draws water into your muscle cells, which some researchers emphasis this supports hydration rather than work against it.

What are the real benefits of taking creatine?

Creatine is best known for supporting strength and muscle performance. Renowned researcher Dr Darren Candow's work has explored creatine's role in areas such as supporting brain function, bone health, offsetting jet lag and improvements to sleep.

Do I need a creatine supplement if I already eat a balanced diet?

You get creatine from food, such as meat, fish and poultry. Your body also makes roughly 1-3g per day. Most of the research on creatine's benefits uses doses of 3 - 5g a day, and reaching that through diet alone would mean eating several kilograms of meat. If you're vegetarian, vegan, creatine supplementation is extemely beneficial.

When's the best time to take creatine?

Timing matters far less than people think. Creatine works by building up in your muscles over time, so taking it daily is what counts, not the exact hour. Some research suggests taking it around your workout may offer a small edge over taking it several hours away, but the difference is minor. Pick a time you'll actually remember, with breakfast, alongside your morning coffee, whatever sticks, and stay consistent.

How much creatine should I take, and do I need to load or microdose?

One CHOOZY scoop or sachet (5g) a day is the standard dose, enough to saturate your muscles in approx 3 weeks (no loading phase necessary). If you are microdosing, splitting your creatine across the day, applies when you're taking more than that standard scoop: for above 5g, take 5g in the morning and 5g in the afternoon, and for higher amounts of up to 15-20g a day (e.g. long-haul flights) split it into four smaller doses across the day, 2 x 5g in the morning and 2 x 5g in the evening. This will minimise any stomach-upset if you are typically sensitive to larger dosage.

Where Does Your Creatine Actually Come From? China vs Germany, Explained

Cara Poyntz

Creatine monohydrate may look the same on the label, but where it comes from can tell a very different story. We compare the global Chinese creatine supply chain with German-made Creapure®, exploring purity, traceability and manufacturing standards and why CHOOZY chooses Creapure® for every creatine product we make.

 Choozy

True wellness starts from within. Our approach supports digestion, energy, resilience, and overall balance — helping you feel your best, daily.

Is this made overseas?

No, Creapure® is manufactured in Germany under one of the strictest quality protocols in the industry, with none of the chemical byproducts found in cheaper processes.

How do I know it's pure?

Every batch is Creapure® certified and independently tested against the Cologne List for banned substances and heavy metals. 99.9% pure, no fillers.

Will creatine make me bloated?

Not with our creapure creatine, this originates from loading phases, and low-grade creatine. If you are taking more than 5g, we suggest micro-dosing throughout the day (5g morning / 5g afternoon).

Isn't cheaper creatine just as good?

Unfortunately not. Budget creatine (often made in China) can carry impurities like DCD and dicyandiamide. Creapure® is the most researched, pharmaceutical-grade form on the market.

Is it safe for long-term use?

Yes; creatine monohydrate is one of the most studied supplements in sports science, with decades of research showing no adverse effects at recommended doses.

Is creatine bad for my kidneys?

No, unless you have a kidney condition - extensive research shows creatine has no harmful effect on kidney function, even with long-term daily use. Always consult with a medical professional.
