The name "electrolyte" is a literal description, not marketing. What Electrolytes Actually Are

What It Feels Like When You're Low

Mild electrolyte imbalance often shows up as muscle cramps, fatigue, headaches, or a general feeling of sluggishness despite drinking plenty of water. More significant imbalances can affect heart rhythm and nervous system function, though that level of severity is uncommon outside of illness, extreme exertion, or medical conditions. If symptoms are severe or persistent, it's worth speaking to a healthcare professional rather than trying to self-correct.

Getting Enough Day to Day

For most people on most days, food covers this: fruit and vegetables for potassium, dairy and leafy greens for calcium and magnesium, and ordinary table salt for sodium.
